Arell006 'The Mountain Opens Its Eyes'
“Think of a mountain.
There is the mountain.
Look close, it has a face: eyes closed, as if sleeping.
Also, a small cluster of trees down the westerly slope, bare trunks and skeletal branches. A figure wanders through them, its large hairless head supported by a disproportionately small body. Some might label it a ghost, a phantom of the mists; others would see nothing but a mirror of sadness, a shambling mound of woes and regrets. It ambles on, dragging twigs and stones along with it, leaves clinging to the matted fur of its legs. It follows a path downwards and slips out of sight.
The sky is red, laden with the weight of the night. The day is slowing, closing down as the heat leaves its surface. The creature, the phantom, the ghost goes to sleep; the mountain opens its eyes to stare unblinking at the stars.”
Them Use Them, 2015
Arell is proud to present 'The Mountain Open's Its Eyes' by Them Use Them. 'The Mountain Opens Its Eyes' is slowly waking electronica/ambient, the source of its sound occasionally recogniseable, often alien. Them Use Them has created a beautifully subtle and measured piece of music celebrating a new year and the magic of landscape.
